Update AltoSignal.

Version 4.0 is rolling out. It is live in the browser app and the Mac and Linux downloads below, and the App Store, Google Play, Amazon Appstore and Microsoft Store apps take it as each store approves the release. What is new in 4.0: the floor plan, take a number, timers on states, and five views of the main screen. A screen still on 3.5 keeps paging normally alongside updated ones.

If a screen keeps falling behind

Automatic updates are the normal case, and they are per device rather than per account, so one tablet can sit on an older build for weeks while the rest of the practice moves on. The usual causes are a device that is rarely on wifi, a store account signed out on that tablet, or automatic updates turned off for it.

• Fire tablets: open the Amazon Appstore, then Settings, and check that automatic updates are on.
• iPhone and iPad: Settings, then App Store, then App Updates.
• Android: Play Store, your profile, Settings, Network preferences, Auto-update apps.
• Windows: the Microsoft Store updates in the background; Library, then Get updates, forces it.
• In a browser: reload the page. If it still looks the same, hold Shift and reload once more, which makes the browser fetch a fresh copy rather than the one it has saved.
• Mac: the desktop app does not update itself yet, and nothing prompts you when a new build is out. Download the current one and open it, then drag it over the old copy: AltoSignal for Mac.
• Linux: the same, and the same to do: AltoSignal for Linux. Unpack it over your existing copy.

An out-of-date screen keeps paging normally, so there is no rush and nothing to fix in an emergency. If one will not update at all, tell us and we will look at it with you.
